In celebrity gossip news (hey, it's on CNN at least) celebutante Nicole Richie's 4-day jail sentence for DUI lasts 82 minutes:
Her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility was spent getting booked, including taking a mugshot and submitting her fingerprints, Holley said. She didn't reach her jail cell.In related news, "actress" Lindsay Lohan was also sentenced:
Lohan was charged with seven misdemeanor drunken-driving and cocaine charges for two arrests in the last four months. Attorney Blair Berk arranged a plea bargain and Lohan was sentenced to one day in jailBased on Richie's experience then, sounds as if Lohan probably won't make it past the queue in the lobby.

This is nothing NEW!! Should have known the little bitches would get away with their crimes! Daddy was able to pave their way for them and now the little whores have it made and can do and get away with anything ... It makes me sick to see what this country has come too. If your poor, you get treated worse than if your rich...
See what knee work on a judge can do for ya? Just ask, Nicole, Paris and Lindsay Lohan. They do knee work all the time and see, it pays off..

By my calculation, Nicole Richie served 1.4% (or about 1/70th) of her sentence. For booking and fingerprints.
It hardly seems worth it to go down there -- what with traffic and all -- perhaps her attorney could've just faxed her details to the jail? It would've saved everyone the trouble.
Based on the numbers above, if a judge wants you to spend an actual day in jail in LA, he'd have to sentence you to more than 2 months.
