Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Now if only I could eliminate those page faults... Andy I downloaded and installed version 0.71. The font icon names problem is gone. I have run the system about 8 hours and have had NO page faults. Excellent! I do have a question. In the Administration section there is a Console Windo...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Thanks for letting me know! Now if only I could eliminate those page faults... Andy Well, as you know, I've been running it in VirtualBox. This is on a circa 2001 AMD Duron @ 900mHz with 1GB RAM. VirtualBox is a little taxing on the system's resources. I had other projects going, but I'm goin...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Very odd. I can't imagine why that would be, off the top of my head. Additional partitions shouldn't, in theory, affect the booting at all. Something to investigate, thank you. My apologies, Andy. I created another VM with a single FAT16 partition. I reinstalled, duplicating the order and steps I t...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Hey, Andy, you're right. Went through the motions again and created a single FAT32 partition. Ran installer then set a simple MBR. System boots fine. It will not boot from a single FAT16 partition, for some reason. It will boot from that same FAT16 partition if there is a second FAT32 partition allo...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Could you possibly show us a screenshot illustrating the mismatch of the icon names and the file names? Sure. I was going to do that in my previous post, but TinyPic was having problems. http://i53.tinypic.com/116o1vq.jpg First icon name is shown as arial-b od -10.vbf. Last icon name is shown as xt...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Andy, I finally did get it installed. I was doing everything correctly. After watching espectall's YouTube video, I partitioned the virtual drive again. Instead of a single FAT16 partition, I created a FAT16 and FAT32 and made the FAT16 the active partition. I was then able to boot from the virtual ...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Thanks, Andy. I found your other thread concerning the MBR. You need a master boot record on your virtual hard disk. Launch the Disk Manager, select your disk, and select "write simple MBR" from the 'Disk' menu. Also, make sure that the partition you want to boot is marked as active (selec...

Re: I can't boot Visopsys!

Hello. I got a very important problem. I am a new user of Visopsys. So, I installed Visopsys 0.7 Preview and I found an error: the hard disk doesn't boot! After, I installed version 0.6 (deleting version 0.7) and doesn't boot again! What's the matter? P.S.: I use VirtualBox. I'm having the s...
