Re: 2 Questions...

Hi. I have two questions. Question one: As I don't exactly understand the way your makefiles are set up, how can I make the kernel only using make. This way every little time i make a change, it won't take 5 minutes. If you just want to make the kernel, change into the kernel directory and type mak...

Re: Desktop Question

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is all about the top bar. I found the config file for it, I just cant trace the code to the actuall rendering of the bar. I assume its using the menu component? Thank you  The generic code for menu bar components is in src/kernel/kernelWindowMenuBar.c,...

Re: Pour the boot to the new hd

Hello, thank you very much for the compliments :)

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "pour" ... Are you trying to install Visopsys on your hard disk?

Re: Visopsys discussion forum

I'm interested in porting some applications too. Could you give an example of how to build an app against the visopsys files and the compiler args needed? Welcome. The best examples are found in the src/programs directory of the visopsys source. Most of the programs are pretty simple, so you can lo...

Re: Desktop Question

Hmm, that answer is probably more complicated than what you were actually wanting to know. The building blocks of the GUI are in the src/kernel/kernelWindow* files. The kernel thread that sets up the desktop and monitors GUI events, etc., is in kernelWindowThread.*. The config files that control som...

Re: Copy a Partition

Yes, you can do that. Select a partition, then click 'copy' from the partition menu, then select an empty space that's large enough, and click 'paste' from the partition menu.

You can also copy/paste using right clicks in the partition diagram.

Re: Spanish keyboard

Thanks for the clarification. Visopsys doesn't only use English symbols (if you can see the correct characters in the keymap program, then they're supported) but I'd never heard of doing these composite multi-key sequences to create individual characters. I thought they were all covered by shift- an...
