Yes, thinking about it, I like the idea of keeping things together. Anything specific to a user should be in a single place (/users/...) so that, for example, you could copy a user's directory from one place to another, and everything would go with it. So, I guess maybe Bob's configuration files should go in /users/bob/config, and things in there such as desktop.conf would override any values found in /system/config/desktop.conf

I would use the "A" option. That way you have two disctint advantages
1) If you have a single settings file, if you lose it or it gets corrupted, you have to reenter configurations for all users, while a single config file per user allows you to backup your individual config without needing to edit sensitive files, and also if one user becomes corrupted, you can still log in with another user and restore the config.
2) You're not putting all your eggs on a single basket.
Yes. This is in my opinion the best option too!

Hello liss, welcome to this quiet part of the internet, Visopsys Forums. Fosforito has a set of files wich allow for easier translation, he sends you a folder with many files that you can edit with your favorite plaintext editor, after you add the translations just send them back to him and he makes them into new files ready for inclusion into the next release. That's how we did it with Spanish and it was pretty easy. Cheers!

Don't mind at all. That would be great. There are some instructions and attachments in the first page of the thread, and the .pot files are there in the source distribution. For example, if you look in the src/programs directory, you'll see matching .pot files with each .c file. Does that help (enough?)
